Final Post

This will be our last posting for this blog site. On behalf of our blog team, we would like to thank you for reading our blogs. Your comments gave us insight to what people think about art and how people relate themselves to paintings. It was a pleasure interacting with each and every one of you.

Joy Williams - I have learned so much in the PR Methods Course. One of the most important things this class has taught me is time management. Though the class was only six weeks long, I have obtained a great amount of knowledge about what documents a media kit contains, how to prepare a media kit, the benefits of blogging and how to create an online newsroom. This blogging experience challenged me to try to step into the minds of others and create a topic that people would want to talk about, which I found to be not that easy! Overall, I am glad that I had this learning experience!

Travis Francis - The blogs assignments were challenging for me. I like to look at paintings from time to time, but I'm not really that into art. After watching the Kinsey Collection video, I have began to develop a new interest in art. The assignment challenged me to expand my interest in something (art) that I wasn't that familiar with. Through the blogging assignments and the PR Methods course, I've leaned that in public relations, you have to connect with your audience. That's what PR is all about, tailoring a message to a specific audience or medium.

Savina Billups - In this class, I learned that sometimes you have to step out of your norm to relate to others. I found myself going to other art blogs just to think of a topic that I can relate to my audience with. I think that was our most challenging part of the assignment. Even with the other assignments for our media kit, I looked at what others were saying about the Kinsey exhibit so that I can have more of an imagination for the special event I was planning.

The collection is comprised of historical documents, art paintings and artifacts from the 18th and 19th century. Some people are calling the Kinsey collection one of the most important exhibits in the world.

The Kinseys' exhibit is scheduled to be displayed at the Mary Brogan Museum in Tallahassee, FL from September 11, 2009 through March 13, 2010.
